In total, since the beginning of the special operation, destroyed 239 aircraft, 137 helicopters, 1,503 drones, 353 air defense systems, 3,994 tanks and other combat vehicles, 3,117 field artillery pieces and mortars, and more than 4,000 special vehicles, the ministry says.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine on 24 February. At the end of June, he said that the ultimate goal of the operation— “liberation” Donbass and creating conditions for guaranteed security of Russia.

Since the end of February, Moscow and Kyiv have been negotiating a peace settlement, but in April they were suspended. Russia laid the responsibility for terminating the dialogue on Ukraine and Western countries.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky then said that he was ready to return to the negotiating table if the territories lost by Kyiv were returned. The Kremlin said that Ukraine could achieve a cessation of hostilities in less than a day, for this you only need to order the military to lay down their arms and comply with Moscow's conditions.
